My company's grand idea was birthed from my own stupidity. My oldest daughter seemingly had a easy request, she wanted $50.00 in Minecraft Coins. Simple enough, but being a IT consultant I dared not to put my Credit Card on her laptop so opted out to purchase the coins online and load them into her account. This began my great adventure in buying MineCoins, after I purchasing $100.00 dollars in incorrect funds for my daughters account my wife went out and bought 2 cards as well. Now being $200.00 dollars in and having no coins for my troubles I started to look into this, too see if others have had the same issues that I had, I went online and begun researching this. Low and behold I found endless forum post and service request asking for refunds. If so many Parents are having problems with just buying MineCoins, what other problems are there facing caregivers?
What I found is a clear need for parents to have a better understanding of the device there kids use, the apps and content that is available to them, and most importantly how to use the provided parental controls effectively. It was at this time I felt a personal responsibility to inform and direct parents with this and any new information I am able to find. My hope and vision is that this business can become a source of great information and supportive services for parents and to provide piece of mind that their kids are safer online.
